I’m a geek, you’re a geek, we’re all geeks.
And geeks predate internet.
Way before the days of global interconnection known as the world-wide-web, before Internet Protocol, before web browsers, there was site-to-site modem connections, and geeks from all around the globe would remotely connect to their local Bulletin Board Systems, commonly referred to as simply BBS.
The BBS scene was were to get latest software, music, news and demos.
Back in the 90s and 80s, 8-bit computers were often used for that. And some are still online today.
